This week I've set up a LinkedIn account. This is so it will be obvious to potential future employers what skills I can provide and what I am specialising in. I've also tried to follow as many people as I know, mostly from the animation course, to widen my network of contacts.
With regards to the Instagram account, which is the main social media site for my artwork, I've continued to post something once a week. I've noticed the hashtags definitely help to get new people to see my account, with around 8 to 12 people beyond my friendship group liking each post, which is promising - now and then someone beyond my contacts will follow or comment.
What Went Well
- Setting up my LinkedIn site will make me more contactable by potential employers
- The instagram page is attracting a small number of people (roughly 30 people at the moment) but bit by bit this will increase
Criticism
- Building up my social media presence is a long process however the consistency of posting will definitely help boost this
- Having yet another social media site can be a lot to remember to check, especially without a phone
